Roberto Henry began his musical studies at the age of 13. He continues his formation as clarinetist with the tutelage of the Teacher Yamileth Perez in the University of Costa Rica. Graduated with Maestro Aldo Sálvent at the National University. He has received master classes with Robert Spring, Antonio Saiote, Carlos Céspedes, Luis Rossi, Wenzel Fuchs, among others. He has participated in several Latin American Clarinet Festivals and Meetings: First and Second International Clarinet Festival PROCLARI (Costa Rica), Second International Clarinet Meeting in Montevideo (Uruguay), First Festival and University Clarinet Competition of Bogotá Claribogotá and Second Regional Clarinet Meeting of the Universidad del Valle in Cali (Colombia), Ibero-American Clarinet Academy (Portugal), Clarifest (Guatemala) 2013 and 2017. As a soloist, Henry has played with the Municipal Bands of Pacayas, San José, Orquestas de Cartago and the University of Costa Rica, Banda de la Universidad de Costa Rica, Concert Bands of Alajuela, Limón, Cartago and the Banda de los Supremos Poderes de Honduras, Banda Municipal de Arroyito, Córdoba (Argentina). He has given recitals in Costa Rica in different halls of Central America: Cartago Amphitheater, Maria Clara Vargas Cullel Hall, University of Costa Rica (Costa Rica), Manuel Bonilla National Theater (Honduras), Concert Hall of the National Conservatory of Music “Germán Alcántara” (Guatemala).
The Miguel Ángel Asturias Cultural Centre (National Theatre of Guatemala) has given master classes in the Concert Bands of Limón, Puntarenas and Guanacaste, as well as in municipal schools and in the Banda de los Supremos Poderes of Honduras, and in the Municipal Band of Arroyito in Córdoba, Argentina. He has also worked as a teacher in several municipal music schools in the provinces of Costa Rica. He currently works as clarinet professor at the University of Costa Rica (headquarters of the province of Limon), clarinet professor at the Municipal Music Schools of Cartago, Agua Caliente and Alvarado, as well as principal clarinetist in the Concert Band of the province of Cartago. Founder and producer of the International Clarinet Festival of the Caribbean.
He is currently an artist of the brands D’addarío Woodwinds and BG France in addition to being a musician associated with the company Bansbach Costa Rica and the brand Yamaha in the development of musical projects in Costa Rica.
