Les Trompettes de Lyon, is a group formed in 1989 by the same five artists who compose it today, namely : Pierre Ballester, André Bonnici, Didier Chaffard, Jean-Luc Richard and Ludovic Roux.
For the last thirty years, they have been making their instruments vibrate for the pleasure of music lovers and the general public alike. From classical recitals to theatrical musical shows, they have partnered with directors such as François Rollin and Patrice Leconte, and have performed on more than 700 stages in France and abroad (Australia, Russia, USA, festivals in Switzerland, Belgium, Germany, Croatia…), conducted masterclasses and increased encounters with the amateur world.
Whether they revisit well-known tunes or take possession of compositions written to measure, they elegantly and brilliantly take up the challenge of sounding an instrumentation composed solely of brass instruments from the trumpet family, from bass to piccolo, flugelhorns and other cornets. We travel with their imagination from the orchestra’s great classics to excerpts from famous operas, from French chanson to musicals, in often unpublished arrangements, necessarily surprising, always with a touch of humour.
They are one of the few French bands to be regularly invited to perform at the ITG – International Trumpet Guild Conference. This will be the case again in May 2020 when they are expected in Columbus, Ohio. Ambassadors for several years of Buffet Crampon instruments, they have recently counted the BG company among their partners to their great pleasure.
On the occasion of their thirtieth anniversary, they invite you to several events in this autumn 2019, including the creation of the show AVIS DE TROMPETTES from 26 to 30 November 2019 at the Théâtre Comédie Odéon, Lyon.
