CRISTIAN ROMERO (Trujillo-Perú)
Peruvian musician, composer and educator. He graduated from the Carlos Valderrama Conservatory of Music as a professional saxophonist and educator. He also studied with Mr. Eric Mariental. BG FRANCE and Marca Reeds Peruvian artist. Throughout his professional career, he has participated in recording sessions and concerts with different national and international musicians such as Oscar Stagnaro, César Correa, Mercado Negro, Dennis Dove, Iván Chávez, Pepe Alva, Carolina Araoz, Alex Sarrín, Percy Stanbury, Ariana Roggeiro, Felipe Castro, Alvaro Pervero, etc; Being one of the most important references of music in Trujillo, especially in Jazz Music— he has participated as a special guest offering masterclasses and concerts in some of the most prestigious saxophone events of the country: PERU SAX and the Arequipa Sax Fest! He is the music director of different groups like Latin Soul salsa fusion (known band of Salsa Fusion) Café jazz, organizer and participant of the two first festivals of jazz in Trujillo – Perú.
As an educator, he has contributed to the careers of many young Peruvian musicians; he has online lessons, and Youtube tutorials. He is Director of the Big Band Jazz of the school Sir Alexander Fleming and of the Big Band Sinfonía por el Peru, a project of great importance in Peru. He is also head of the music department of the Sir Alexander Fleming School in Trujillo, with training in the IB (International Baccalaureate) and IGCS— two of the world’s most important curricula for students who attend secondary education.
