Danielle Janos earned a Bachelors of Music in Music Education from the University of New Hampshire (UNH). In her time at UNH, she studied clarinet with Dr. Elizabeth Gunlogson. An avid performer, Danielle has been involved in the following ensembles: UNH Wind Symphony (principal), UNH Symphony Orchestra (principal), UNH Marching Band, and various chamber groups including a woodwind quartet who traveled to Cheng Du, Shanghi, and Bejing, China in 2017 to perform a tour. In 2015 Danielle won the University of New Hampshire’s Concerto Competition and performed in front of the Symphony Orchestra. After graduating with University Honors distinction, Danielle attended The National Music Festival in Chestertown, MD and performed the second movement of the Mozart Clarinet Concerto in front of the festival orchestra.
Danielle has been teaching clarinet both privately and in a master class setting for eight years. She recently completed an internship in Music Education with Manchester Memorial High School in Manchester, New Hampshire and Green Acres Elementary School in Manchester, New Hampshire where she taught: band, orchestra, music theory, beginning piano, guitar, and elementary general music. For her success in teaching, Danielle was named “Top Music Educator” of her graduating class of 2018.
In August of 2018, Danielle relocated to Denton, Texas to begin her degree work for a Masters of Music in Clarinet Performance at the University of North Texas (UNT). She is currently a student of Dr. Kimberly Cole-Luevano. Danielle is a member of the UNT Wind Symphony and a clarinet quartet, Squeak 4ce. She currently has a studio of around fifteen clarinetists. For the future, Danielle hopes to continue her education with a Doctorate of Musical Arts in order to earn a fulfilling occupation with an accomplished orchestra and/or reputable university department of music.
